Do I need a Property Inspection Report?

Increasingly UK Border Agency Entry Clearance Officers require confirmation that the intended accommodation is habitable, and whether the property would become statutorily overcrowded by any additional person(s) proposing to live there.

Entry clearance guidelines issued by the UK Border Agency extend to the Immigration Rules covering fiancé(e)s, spouses/civil partners/unmarried partners/same-sex partners and dependants, in addition to those persons coming to the UK from outside of the EU for temporary purposes. The change in procedures at the UK Border Agency now make having a immigration accommodation report a strong recommendation.

What information is contained in a Property Inspection Report?

As part of the UK Entry Clearance requirements, the UK Border Agency may require an assessment of the intended accommodation prior to arrival to the UK. Such an assessment should be undertaken by a suitably qualified body, as an Environmental Health Practitioner and member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, who are independent of the applicant/sponsor/appellant certifying that an inspection has been carried out and that a report issued to indicate if the property will become overcrowded within the definition of the Housing Act 1985 and/or will not contravene public health regulations.

Healthy Abode satisfy the UK Border Agency’s requirements as independent Environmental Health consultants to prepare a comprehensive report confirming the status of the proposed accommodation and produce a 4 - 5 page Property Inspection Report
